1 Day Jinja Excursion

The Nile
The Nile is the world’s longest river that is shared by Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia
with Uganda having the source of the Nile. The idea of the longest river in the world has been disputed between the Amazon river and the Nile. The boat to the source of Nile, is historic one with a lot marine
life to look out for. The 6,650km river start here in Jinja.

Detailed Itinerary

 

Itinerary – Pick up and transfer to Jinja (options, White Water rafting, Source of Nile Boat Cruise, Tubbing the Nile and Horseback Ridding).

This is a fully day excursion and we will start our journey as early as 7:00am to try to beat the traffic jam of Kampala Jinja road. Depending on the activity of the day, there are several routes we your will take to avoid the traffic jam of Kampala. For this full day excursion, we have several option and these include;

 

Full day White Water rafting/Half day White water rafting

For those who love extreme adventure activities, conquering the should be part of your to do list while visiting the pearl of Africa. This life changing experience starts with an early breakfast and briefing about the does and don’ts while on the Nile. After breakfast and briefing, there are disclaimer papers to sign and you head to the Nile. You will be on the Nile for about 6 hours and lunch will be served on the course of Nile. You will have several guides as you maneuver through the rapids and of the Nile. As you conquer the Nile, there are several encounters with the wildlife on the Nile including birds and local communities farming on the banks of the Nile. We will share the photos of the whole experience after the day on the Nile. Half day will start from Itanda falls and takes about 3 hours taking you through the last three major exciting rapids.

 

Source of Nile Boat Cruise and shopping

This is a more inclusive option in way that you will be able to interact with the local communities as you visit the source of the Nile. Several stops will be arranged in case you would like to test the local food and visit any open market along the way. A boat at the source of the Nile takes about 40 minutes and while on the Nile and your guide will explain more about the source of Nile while on the boat. Among other things to see here include the Ghandi monument, the CHOGAM drum and the shopping stalls at the Nile.

 

Tubing the Nile

 Nile river tubing is one of the new sports that’s becoming famous on the Nile. Its categorized into three; Flat water, White Water and Extreme river tubing. The most fun part of this activity is that it can be done at any time of day between 07:00hrs and 18:00hrs taking about 2-6 hours depending on the time you want to spend on the Nile. Safety gear such as helmet and life jackets to ensure that you are safe at all times. For those celebrating special events, birthdays, end of safari, honeymoon, now is the time to pop that champagne bottle and share a glass while on the Nile and not forgetting diving in the Nile for a swim with your guides approval.

 

 

 

Horseback Ridding

Enjoy the heart of Africa on horseback is one of the classic ways to view the mighty and stroll through the local communities as you watch the local people go through their daily activities and life on a farm. Depending your level of experience, thirty minutes or more hours on a horseback is thrilling especially with a group of friends or alone with your guide. In case you need more time or you’re an experienced riders looking for a fast-paced safari with plenty of cantering, we are able to organize for you as well.
